Ralph Racette treats his 2005 STi better than most of us treat that special lady in our lives. He goes to painstaking lengths to make sure she's always looking nothing less than spectacular. Short of singing love songs to her, he does pretty much everything else he can to make sure she's always pampered. Ralph even went as far as to move her from Wisconsin to southern Florida just so she'd never get any snow up in her lovely under carriage. "Actually, I recently ended up moving down to Florida as a result of making a ridiculously low offer on a house that I couldn't believe was actually accepted by the owners." Sure you did Ralph, sure you did.

"It may sound kind of weird but I fell in love with the STi after playing Gran Turismo. I wanted to own one that looked as clean as the one in the game." The first thing Ralph did for this catch after he swept her off the lot was buy her some new shoes. "I put Volk's on almost immediately after I bought the car new." Good idea my man, the fastest way to a ladies heart is to buy her footwear. "After that I upgraded the turbo and exhaust system. I do all of the work on this car myself as I don't trust shops." I can't say I blame you Ralph. I mean I'm not really the jealous type but I wouldn't want some other dude's grubby mitts all over this little temptress either if she was mine.

When it comes to her putting out, let's just say that Ralph gets what he needs. "I had the car put on a dyno last year at Genesis Racing (GRD) in Chicago and it put down 373 horses to the wheels on 93 octane pump gas. I had a weaker clutch in it then so I didn't want to push it." When I asked Ralph what kind of response he gets when he's out on the town with this blue bombshell he said "It's funny because it seems to always be real machismo type guys in older Corvettes with a chick in the passenger seat looking for trouble. Most of them don't even realize what kind of car I'm driving. I blow their doors off."

Much like the ice breaker arm candy I aspire to have hanging off me when I mingle with the social elite at the next charity event held at my local country club, Ralph attributes his fondness of the STi to making all sorts of friends. "I think I've probably met more people while hanging out with my car than most other things I've done in my life." For some reason I'm not really surprised. One look at this Subie and it was love at first site for me. Too bad she's taken.
