Ever since World War II, Goodyear has been producing blimps for the U.S. Navy for their discrete and surreptitious surveillance capabilities. Today, these airships are mostly used for marketing purposes for Goodyear tires, and hover over packed stadiums during those big games. If there was an exclusive opportunity to take a ride in one of these helium powered machines, only those with health problems may regretfully decline the offer.
Goodyear generously invited several automotive media representatives to their airship base in Carson California, to unveil their new product line, the Eagle GT tires. As a bonus, they also offered a nice leisurely blimp cruise to the Long Beach coast. The professionalism and courteous service displayed by all Goodyear Personnel showed the kind of people that kept the company strong for so many decades.
Despite the unhealthy economy, Goodyear has experienced increased sales with their genius marketing and sales techniques. Not only are the Eagle GT set at an affordable price range, but are available in a wide range of sizes. Goodyear expressed that these tires are designed to fall into the mid tier tire market, and are basically targeted towards the high performance and youth performance drivers. Other notable releases were the Eagle RS and the Eagle F1 Supercar tires. Both are categorized for the performance enthusiasts with high powered vehicles.
Goodyear and Eagle supplies OEM vehicle manufacturers with tires designed primarily for fuel efficiency, like their Assurance Fuel Max line. This fact, along with their long history of airship production for the government proves once again, that they are the leaders of tires technology.
