Playing Burnout Paradise is the perfect way to kill a Sunday. Especially if you've had a few too many cocktails the night before and you "burn one" yourself before you start the game. There's something therapeutic about that scenery just ahead of you becoming a mere blur in your peripheral as you almost literally fly by it.
Some streets, like Section I-88 in particular, just beg for you to jam on the gas and mash through your entire Boost like some sort of maniac obsessed with his own self destruction. The feeling you get as you barrel down these roads is almost one of panic. Depending on which car you're driving, things get fast real quick. Before long, you start to get a sense of childish glee as you tear around looking for jumps to hit and trick on, other cars to smash into oblivion and little races and other missions to partake in. There's really no shortage of action in the land known as Burnout Paradise. Depending on your mood you can do some racing or just crash into as many cars as you can. Both help you gain experience which upgrades your license class and ride selection.
Although I didn't get a chance to finish this game before my review was due, I can say for sure that I would've. Burnout Paradise has enough happening to keep you entertained and its playability is smooth enough that it's easy on the nerves. That's something that real life burn out's like me can appreciate.
