The Live Sockets gang has been obsessed with the new Codemasters Grid demo. Download this for your PC/Xbox 360 or PS3 now! This game was built on the Dirt engine and it looks gorgeous. Controls are pretty arcade-like but are easy to master once you've put in some time. The drifting element in the game is killer and if you can beat our record of 4.5M points, we will send you some free swag. The full game comes out June 3rd.

The 24hrs endurance race at the Nürburgring came and went this year without much fanfare from this side of the pond. Check out the official site for results and photos. This year's race was dominated by Porsche's and BMW's but it was good to see some Honda's, Nissan's and the new VW Scirocco driven by none other than Carlos Sainz out there in the fight. This is one of those Motorsport events that you have to witness at least once in your life time. Besides judging from the pictures, it looks like everyone in the crowd had a good time or was too drunk to remember.

Speaking of endurance races, the 24hr of Lemons this year saw tragedy with the loss of driver Court Summerfield who died while driving the Team Cant Am Volvo 242 Turbo. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Subaru launched the new Impreza WRC2008 car at the Acropolis Rally in Greece. We'll see how this new Impreza will hold up under the rough conditions in this car breaker of a rally. It's kind of a mixed blessing because Chris Atkinson has been doing so well in the '07 car and it's probably going to take some time to get this model dialed in. However, we have high hopes for the new car with the success that Dave Richards have had since taking over the team management duties. Maybe Petter Solberg will get back into the fight this season with the new car as well.

We are stoked to be producing the Live Sockets Battle Series this summer in association with the Redline Time Attack event. This unique format will pit some of the country's top tuners against one another on California Speedway's 21 turn, 2.8 miles Auto Competition Course the weekend of July 19-20th. You're going to see these teams battle head-to-head while hitting top speeds on banked turns of the famed Fontana track. Stay tuned for more details on this one.
