Hey what’s up, I’m Jesper. I figured what better way to start my column with Carbon8 than with coverage of an annual event that takes place over here in Denmark called DHB (for those unfamiliar, Denmark is a country in the Scandinavian region of Europe).
DHB is short for “Danmarks Hurtigste Bil” which translated to English means, “The Fastest Car in Denmark”. Recently some other competitions were added to the event like “The Best Styled Car in Denmark” and a drift challenge. DHB attracts about 20,000 visitors and that number increases every year. 20,000 spectators might not sound like a lot but keep in mind that the population of Denmark is only around 5.4 million, which is about half the population of New York City.
My team and I had been looking forward to the event for a couple of months but right after we hit the road to make our way there, we ended up putting our 813 WHP Aristo in a ditch! Luckily, neither the car nor the people in the car took too much damage but our trailer couldn’t take the weight of the Aristo so we had to leave it at home. Being the die-hard car enthusiasts we are though, we didn’t let that ruin our weekend and we ended up having the greatest time at DHB. Here are the results and some photos from the weekend. Hope you like them!
The competitors in DHB were mainly European cars but the winner was a 850 WHP red Evo IX. In DFB (best styled car) a Mazda MX-5 won. In DHB Drift Challenge a Nissan 180SX won.
