Last month, I took you to the Danish Mecca of speed, DHB. Denmark is a very small country and may sound like a boring as hell place to be but we have managed to make it fun and interesting – you’ll find out more about that in the coming months.
The last month it has rained for almost the whole time, so this month is a retrospect of what the tuner scene in Denmark is all about.
Denmark has the highest vehicle registration fee (about 180 % plus 25 % VAT) on planet Earth. On top of that – you may think that your gas prices are high in the US, but we pay $ 8.90 per gallon! Last but not least – the laws concerning what you are allowed to do with your cars are very strict and sometimes complicated to understand.
Like a lot of countries around the world, since the release of the original The Fast And The Furious movie, Denmark has developed a significant “tuner scene”. Ten years ago we had only one car magazine and one annual event for modified cars – now we have two magazines (for a short period we had three) and a vast number of events.
Cheer up – higher gas prices and more expensive cars may make you more creative!
